Dr. J. Daniel Rasband is fellowship trained in nuclear medicine and board certified. He is skilled in interpreting and acquiring medical imaging using such clinical imaging techniques as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fluoroscopy, positron emission tomography (PET), projection radiography (x-ray), computed tomography, ultrasound and other imaging tools.

Dr. Rasband has had specialized training in nuclear radiology—taking and interpreting images using tracers (radionuclides or pharmaceuticals that have been labeled with radionuclides) and a gamma camera, which detects the radiation emitted from the radionuclide inside the body.

After graduating from medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York, Dr. Rasband completed a transitional medicine internship at the LDS Hospital. This was followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Utah. Dr. Rasband then completed a fellowship in nuclear radiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. During his fellowship training, the Academy of Molecular Imaging awarded him a Young Investigator Scholarship. His professional associations include the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the Society of Nuclear Medicine, and the Utah State Radiology Society.
